New Ventures and Benefits

The financial burden of starting your own trucking company is not a secret, and in the chaos many necessities are left unprotected

Specifically, if your health benefits have come from the employer your leaving, those need to be replaced, ASAP! This can be very difficult as it may be difficult to qualify for ACA subsidies as a New Venture, and the coverage may still be very costly. Fleet Risk Solutions can help you navigate the Health Insurance marketplace, and we also have partnerships for short term coverage, dental, vision, accident, and additional benefits to provide protection for yourself and your family.

Short Term Health Insurance

Short Term Health Insurance I exactly what it sounds like. It is a health insurance policy that is intended to bridge the Gap between coverage you may be losing prior to other coverage starting. This can happen if you’ve missed Open Enrollment, If your new coverage does not start for 90 days, or a variety of other reasons where you find yourself without coverage. Unlike the ACA, Short Term Health plans do have to be underwritten, and not everyone automatically qualifies. Typically, Short Term policies are written for less than six months, but in certain states you can remain on a Short Term policy for up to 3 years, minus 1 day. It’s important to note that since these, Short Term, policies are not ACA compliant you may incur a penalty if used as long-term coverage.

Dental Insurance

Many people think of their cleanings twice a year when we talk about Dental Insurance, but good dental hygiene goes beyond white teeth and avoiding bad breath. Poor dental hygiene has been shown to cause heart disease, pregnancy problems, chronic inflammation, and exacerbate Diabetes. The good news is Dental Insurance is often one of these lowest cost benefits relating to health insurance, and Fleet Risk Solutions has multiple partnerships to bring you the best coverage at the best price.

Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity

Rounding out the core coverages that relate to health insurance are Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity policies. Each carrier has their own variations and even the partnerships we have within Fleet Risk Solutions have slightly different offerings. Accident policies are triggered by accidents and will pay you lump sums for specific reasons such as $300 for an Emergency Room visit. They may pay a larger amount such as $2,500 if you break an arm, but they help you by reimbursing you a portion of what you pay out of pocket towards your health insurance deductible. Critical Illness policies have similar features of an Accident Policy, but for Critical Illnesses such as a Stroke, Heart Attack, Cancer, etc. They pay a larger lump sum then what you might find in most Accident policies and are meant to offset the larger health expenses of the associated illnesses. Hospital Indemnity picks up where an Accident or Critical Illness policy typically falls off. These policies reimburse you for certain costs associated to long term stays in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

Fleet Risk Solutions offers these protections as well as others to our clients.

Each policy has its own separate guidelines, and we are here to help you navigate the details and add more protection to your greatest asset and motivations.
